Triple Crown hopeful Justify’s owners tap Leverage Agency for deals

The owners of Triple Crown hopeful Justify have tapped Leverage Agency to handle sponsorships, betting that the racehorse’s odds heading into the Belmont Stakes on June 9 will excite advertisers as much as fans.

The assignment from Winstar Farm horse breeders, to be announced on Thursday, marks the third time the New York agency has served a Triple Crown contender.

American Pharoah won the three-race trophy in 2015, after Leverage cut high-profile deals with Monster Energy and Wheels Up.

The agency also lined up sponsorships with Skechers and Breathe Right for California Chrome — a popular but unsuccessful contender in 2014.

Having swept the Kentucky Derby on May 5 and the Preakness Stakes on May 19, Justify needs the win at Belmont Park to become the 13th Triple Crown winner since 1919. It’s currently heading into the race with leading 4-5 odds.

“With American Pharoah and California Chrome, the sponsors were able to capitalize on this extraordinary moment in time,” Leverage CEO Ben Sturner told The Post. “We’re confident that brands will significantly move the needle by partnering with Justify.”
