Jurors reach partial verdict in Mangano trial

Jurors at the corruption trial of former Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano have reached a verdict involving one of three defendants in the case, according to a note from the panel Thursday morning.

“We have come to a unanimous decision on one defendant and we are split on the other two,” the note said.

Central Islip federal Judge Joan Azrack was mulling a response to the development.

Mangano, his wife, Linda Mangano, and former Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto are accused of taking bribes and kickbacks from a former restaurateur, Harendra Singh, in exchange for county contracts and government loan guarantees.

Singh pleaded guilty in the scheme and served as the prosecution’s star witness.

He also claims to have bribed Mayor Bill de Blasio with campaign contributions for official favors tied to the former Water’s Edge eatery in Queens.

De Blasio was never charged over those allegations, which he has denied, labeling them lies Singh told to cut his cooperation deal.
