500 pounds of meth found hidden in Disney figurines

The “happiest place on earth” may actually be in Atlanta, where authorities found 500 pounds of meth valued at $2 million hidden inside Disney figurines.

Hundreds of ceramic Winnie the Pooh, Donald Duck, Pluto and other characters were intercepted by Drug Enforcement Administration officials in Gwinnett County, according to Fox 5. Each was stuffed with about a pound of crystallized methamphetamine.

“This is a family-based theme, a Disney theme, but there’s nothing good about what this would do to any family if this hit the street,” DEA Atlanta Division Special Agent Robert Murphy told the outlet.

The drugs are from Mexico, Murphy said.

Another load of figurines was also stopped but those were drug-free and thought to be a decoy, officials said.
