Women-only club the Wing expands to six new locations

The Wing, a trendy women-only co-working space with Instagram-worthy decor, is expanding its empire to six new locations around the world, including another location in Brooklyn.

Women in Toronto, London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and, yes, Williamsburg, will soon have working spaces of their own in the near future, the company announced today with billboards in the neighborhoods getting their Wings.

The Williamsburg Wing will open later this year, but the exact location has yet to be determined, a spokeswoman tells The Post. It will join the quickly expanding suite of millennial pink-doused offices with Chanel-sponsored beauty rooms: its flagship co-working space in Flatiron, where founding members include rapper Remy Ma, writer Lena Dunham and Glossier CEO Emily Weiss; plus others in Soho, Dumbo and Washington, DC.

Membership at the Wing, which has described itself as “a coven, not a sorority,” costs between $215 and $250 a month. The company checks out prospective members’ social media profiles when they apply.

“We’ve received inquiries from women all over the world, asking us to bring the Wing to their home city, and this is just the start of what we expect to be a very exciting journey,” Audrey Gelman, one of the Wing’s co-founders, says in a statement.

The expansion is charging ahead despite an investigation opened by New York City’s Commission on Human Rights to determine if the company’s women-only rule violates the NYC Human Rights Law, which states that clubs aren’t allowed to discriminate against customers based on their gender.

Gelman told the Cut that the investigation “has resulted in nothing more than an agreement to meet and have a conversation — in fact, we have been assured that the de Blasio administration fully supports the mission of the Wing and will work with us to see it prosper.”
