Eatery enshrines table where Obama and Bourdain dined

That’s one way to make a meal last.

The owners of a restaurant in Hanoi, Vietnam where former president Barack Obama and celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain feasted for $6 have enshrined the table and blue plastic stools where the two men sat nearly two years ago.

Not sure how I feel about this,” Bourdain wrote on Instagram, along with an image of the small table covered in empty dishes, chopsticks and two beer bottles, now completely encased in glass.

The men slurped down bowls of Bún chả, or pork with noodles in broth, and sipped beer at the Bún chả Hương Liên shop for a 2016 episode of the chef’s “Parts Unknown” CNN show.

One of the owners of the family-run shop told the BBC his patrons wanted to see where Obama had dined.

“The customers love it, take photos next to the table,” Nguyen Thi Hang Nga said. “For us, it is a nice memory that we will cherish forever.”

The dishes and bottles were washed before being displayed in plexiglass, he said.

The honor is normally reserved for the country’s top leaders and this may be the first time a foreign politician has been remembered in this way, the BBC reported.
