Trans teen outed by wrestling coach quits team over bullying

A transgender teen in Ohio said he felt pressured to quit the boys wrestling team after he was “outed” by his coach.

Aiden Pogue-Krabacher — who was born Aubry — claimed a Wilmington High School coach told his teammates that he was transgender and forced him to change in the women’s locker room, news station KMOV reported.

The trans male said the school wrestling coach, Kelly Tolliver, insisted that he was a girl.

According to the ninth-grader, when he protested, the coach “proceeded to say, ‘yes you are’” and kicked him out of the locker room.

Pogue-Krabacher, who has been transitioning to male since sixth grade, said the other wrestlers threatened and bullied him after it was revealed he was transgender.

The wrestler’s mom, Sheila, blasted the coach at a school board meeting Monday for allegedly doing nothing to stop the bullying.

“Not only did Coach Tolliver announce to the entire team that Aiden is transgender, he publicly humiliated him in front of his classmates with privileged, medical information he had no business sharing,” his mom said, according to KMOV.

Wilmington school board officials said the incident is under investigation.

“We don’t discriminate against anyone,” said school board president Marty Beaugard. “That’s all I can say right now because everything is still under investigation.”
