Danica Patrick’s dad takes apparent anthem shot at Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers’ romance with Danica Patrick is going full steam ahead, but it appears his relationship with her father is going to take a bit more time.

T.J. Patrick, a vocal critic of NFL players protesting the national anthem, took to Facebook days after Feb. 18’s Daytona 500, commenting on a photo of his daughter and the Packers quarterback putting their hands over their chests during the rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

“No kneeling in NASCAR!! Hand in heart!!” the elder Patrick posted.

Though considered an innocent remark by some, others believe T.J. Patrick took a not-so subtle jab at Rodgers, 34, who had previously encouraged Packers fans to link arms ahead of a game at Lambeau Field last fall, as he did the same with teammates.

“This is about equality,” Rodgers said in September, per the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “This is about unity and love and growing together as a society, and starting a conversation around something that may be a little bit uncomfortable for people. But we’ve got to come together and talk about these things and grow as a community, as a connected group of individuals in our society, and we’re going to continue to show love and unity.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Patrick has taken a shot at the Packers. Following Green Bay’s unified moment, Danica’s father allegedly wrote, “Can someone please tell me what they are protesting,” per a screenshot from Terez Owens.

As for Rodgers and his 35-year-old lady love, who confirmed their relationship in January, they are currently vacationing in Tulum, Mexico.
