It was a ruff game!

Sunday’s Puppy Bowl XIV featured 20 adorable canines that sniffed, barked, whined and rolled over for tummy scratches as their handlers coaxed them into participating in the annual Animal Planet counter program to the Super Bowl.

The pups, all rescues, were divided into two teams: Team Fluff and Team Ruff.

In the end, it was Kaleb Jr. – a rescue dog from Puerto Rico – that scored the final touchdown for Team Fluff, winning 52 to 47.

Chrissy Beckles, who helped bring Kaleb Jr. to New York through the Sato Project, said she entered him in the competition because she knew the mutt
“had touchdowns in his genetics.”

New York’s watch party was hosted by designer Marc Jacob’s bull terrier, Neville Jacobs.

“We love watching all the dogs. It’s just the most adorable thing you can watch on television. It’s almost as good as cuddling with them yourself,” said Hope Langston, a 58-year-old art director who lives on Centerport, LI, and has adopted two Satos, Shanti and Edgar.
