Trump trolls women’s marches amid global protests

President Trump trolled the 200 women’s marches held around the world Saturday by saying protesters should support his agenda.

“Beautiful weather all over our great country, a perfect day for all Women to March,” he tweeted at 1:51 p.m. “Get out there now to celebrate the historic milestones and unprecedented economic success and wealth creation that has taken place over the last 12 months. Lowest female unemployment in 18 years!”

Thousands of women turned out at rallies in New York, Washington and other cities and towns to protest Trump’s views on abortion, immigration and LGBT rights.

At a rally at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand urged more women to run for office.

“One year ago, the day after President Trump was sworn into office, something extraordinary happened: We saw the rebirth of the women’s movement when thousands of women and men came together for the #WomensMarch, the single largest global protest in history,” Gillibrand tweeted at 1:38 p.m.

“Our grassroots energy is growing, not fading. It’s clearer than ever that women are holding our democracy together in these dangerous times,” Gillibrand followed up at 1:43 p.m., minutes before Trump’s trolling tweet.
