Cop injured after being hit by fleeing driver, carried on car hood

A police officer was injured when he was hit by a car as it sped away from him in Manhattan late Saturday night, authorities said.

The cop stopped the Mercedes-Benz C63 after the driver was allegedly doing donuts on West 44nd Street near 7th Avenue near Times Square around 11:45 p.m.

When the blue blood stopped and approached the car, the driver sped off – hitting the officer in the process, authorities said.

The policeman was allegedly carried on the hood of the Mercedes for about two car lengths before he was tossed to the ground, a law enforcement source told the Post.

The sedan kept going, traveling west on West 42nd Street and hitting several cars as it rushed away. Police have not yet arrested the hit-and-run driver.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his right leg and hip, chest, arms and back, the source said. He was taken to Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s hospital.
