Franken denies that he’s decided to resign tomorrow

Embattled Sen. Al Franken’s office on Wednesday disputed a Minnestota Public Radio report that he had decided to resign on Thursday.

“No final decision has been made and the Senator is still talking with his family,” said a tweet on his official Senate Twitter account.

A Democratic official who spoke to Franken and some of his key aides had said earlier Wednesday that the Minnesota senator will resign his seat on Thursday, MPR reported.

A staffer told the Dem official that the former Saturday Night Live funnyman and accused groper had gone to his Washington home to discuss his fate with his family.

Eight women have accused Franken of sexual misconduct, and more than a half-dozen female Democratic senators called on him to quit.
