Divisive Jeff Koons art visible from million-dollar NYC pad

Home is where the art is — even if it’s a bit in the distance.

A one-bedroom co-op at 20 Sutton Place South is coming to market on Monday, asking $1.37 million. The 1,100-square-foot pad comes with a large wraparound balcony and full-on views of the East River, Roosevelt Island and Long Island City — as well as a piece of controversial art.

An iridescent green diamond-shaped sculpture by famed artist Jeff Koons sits atop 1 Sutton Place South, a building located across the street.

Located on the penthouse terrace at the home of hedge funder Richard Perry and his fashion-designer wife, Lisa — who appeared to have purchased the 5-foot-tall sculpture for $2.3 million in 2005 — this glitzy work caused a kerfuffle following its 2007 installation by crane.

According to a 2009 report in The Post, penthouse residents living across the street at 14 Sutton Place South blasted the Perrys’ installation for its allegedly awful reflections of light. They complained it “[burned] like lasers through their windows,” according to the story. A crew apparently had to come reposition the artwork to lessen its glare.

Inside, the apartment has an open living/dining area with a woodburning fireplace. The Corcoran Group

A spokesperson for the Corcoran Group, the brokerage bringing the 20 Sutton Place South unit to market, says harsh reflections — although they’ve presumably been taken care of by now — are not an issue in this apartment.

The corner home additionally has light-filled living and dining rooms, a wood-burning fireplace, arched doorways and a windowed kitchen. Though it’s configured as a one-bedroom, there’s potential to carve out a second bedroom.

Building amenities include a garage. A parking space inside will also be available to purchase separately for $150,000.

Corcoran’s Thomas Di Domenico and Joel Dommel will market the home.
