Geno Smith better have his alarm set for this West Coast trip

Hey, Geno, Sunday’s game in Oakland begins at 1:25 Pacific time. One-twenty-five.

It may sound a bit harsh to have to spell it out for Geno Smith, who will make his first start as a Giant after the team pulled the plug on Eli Manning, but consider this: The last time he started a game on the West Coast — Oct. 5, 2014 for the Jets in San Diego — Smith missed a team meeting the night before, and then was benched at halftime with the Jets trailing 21-0 on the way to a 31-0 loss.

A Jets spokesman said at the time that Smith had made an “honest mistake.” A source told The Post Smith may have been confused because the Jets had always met at 8 p.m. on Saturday nights and were staying on Eastern time on that trip, making the meeting 5 p.m. local time. Smith arrived 5 to 10 minutes after the meeting had ended.
