Ivanka sides with women who claim sexual assault by Moore

While her father remains silent on Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, first daughter Ivanka Trump made it clear Wednesday she’s on the side of his alleged victims.

“There’s a special place in hell for people who prey on children,” she told the Associated Press when asked about Moore.

“I’ve yet to see a valid explanation [from Moore] and I have no reason to doubt the victims’ accounts.”

The 70-year-old Republican had already been accused by two women of sexual assault and by three others of putting the moves on them when they were teens and he was in his 30s.

His lawyer, Phillip Jauregui, held a bizarre news conference Wednesday afternoon in which he said Moore’s campaign had hired a handwriting expert, and wanted to see a yearbook belonging to one of the accusers who said Moore had signed it to determine whether it was really Moore’s writing.

But Jauregui refused to take questions.

Desperate Republicans, meanwhile, were scrambling to find a way to dump Moore — who is trailing Democrat Doug Jones by 12 points in a new poll.

The poll, conducted by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, showed Moore at 39 percent and Jones with 51.

The committee dropped its support for Moore after the first allegations against him surfaced a week ago, and the group’s chairman, Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado, said Moore should be expelled from the Senate if he wins.

The poll was first reported by Politico.
