Murder-for-hire suspect indicted for plotting with dead gal pal to kill exes

A Houston man accused of plotting with his late girlfriend to kill their exes has been slapped with another charge in connection to the murder-for-hire scheme.

Leon Philip Jacob, 39, was indicted Friday on aggravated kidnapping charges for ordering the abduction of his ex-girlfriend, mySA.com reported.

Jacob was arrested in March along with girlfriend Valerie Busick McDaniel, 48, for trying to hire an undercover officer posing as a hit man to kill their former partners.

Jacob, who was already charged with assaulting his ex, allegedly wanted to have her kidnapped and killed to prevent her from testifying in the case. McDaniel tried to order a hit on her ex-husband, according to police.

Each was charged with solicitation of capital murder after meeting with the undercover officer to plan the attack.

After being charged, McDaniel jumped to her death on March 27 from her apartment in River Oaks, Texas, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Jacob has remained in custody since a judge ruled that he a risk to public safety.
