Once brothers in uniform, Mark Teixeira and Brian McCann will soon be step brothers.
McCann’s mother, Sherry, revealed Wednesday she is marrying Teixeira’s father, John, this winter while standing in line with Bleacher Report columnist Scott Miller at the airport. Sherry McCann likely was on her way to Los Angeles to watch son Brian, the Astros catcher, in Game 7 of the World Series against the Dodgers.
McCann and Teixeira played together on the Yankees for two seasons before McCann was traded to Houston and Teixeira announced his retirement, both in 2016.
Teixeira joined ESPN this year as a MLB analyst.
