Pricey photos stolen from MoMA PS1

An art burglar stole two photographs worth more than $100,000 from the Museum of Modern Art’s PS 1 annex in Long Island City, police sources said on Tuesday.

The two gelatin silver prints were discovered missing from the contemporary-art institution on Monday evening.

There was no sign of forced entry and no surveillance camera footage, according to law-enforcement sources, who say investigators are now looking into whether someone hid inside the museum after it closed 6 p.m. Monday to pull off the heist.

It was not immediately clear what the stolen prints depicted.

Gelatin silver is a black-and-white printing method dating back to the late 1800s.
