Jets’ Jeremy Kerley suspended by NFL

Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley is being suspended by the NFL for a violation of the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, a source confirmed.

A first-time suspension for PEDs would be four games, but the NFL has not announced the length.

Kerley has 22 catches for 217 yards and one touchdown. He is also the team’s punt returner. Last week against the Falcons, he muffed a punt in the fourth quarter that cost the Jets.

The 28-year-old returned to the Jets this season after one year with the 49ers. He was drafted by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2011 draft and spent his first five seasons with the team. The Jets cut him after the 2015 season and he went to San Francisco. The 49ers released him at the end of training camp this year and the Jets brought him back. He has been a valuable part of the Jets offense.
