Congresswoman to introduce sex harassment bill on Capitol Hill

A female lawmaker wants Congress to overhaul its policies on sexual harassment — saying the atmosphere on Capitol Hill resembles that of an old boys’ club.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Cal­if.) will introduce legislation next week calling for an overhaul of the compliance office, saying it was set up “to protect the institution — and to impede the victim from getting justice.”

Lawmakers and congressional aides are not required to undergo sexual-harassment training — a flaw even the office that handles harassment charges says should be changed, Politico reported .
