Police searching for thugs who pummeled Bronx man to death

A Bronx man was pummeled to death early Saturday by two thugs who tried to rob him, cops said.

Pedro Adorno, 40, was on Taylor Avenue near Westchester Avenue at 4:30 a.m. when the duo repeatedly punched and kicked him in the head and face before taking off, police said.

Adorno was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center.

Cops released surveillance video and images of the suspects, both of whom appear to be between 30 and 35 years old, cops said. One wore a green shirt with camouflage sleeves, blue jeans and dark-colored boots, while the other is seen in a blue shirt, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes, cops said.

About a half-hour earlier, a man was found stabbed to death in the West Brighton section of Staten Island.

The victim, 52, was pronounced dead at Richmond University Medical Center. His name was not released.

A woman, who police described as being highly intoxicated, was taken into custody at the scene and was being questioned by cops, police said.
