Has Willson Contreras learned nothing from the epic failures of quarterback Chad Kelly before him?
On Tuesday, Washington sports super fan Mia Khalifa outed the 24-year-old Cubs catcher on Twitter following several attempts to reach her through direct messages.
“Cubbies, your man’s is wandering around left field. Can you come get him? @Cubs,” Khalifa posted, along with screenshots of Contreras’ one-sided exchange.
After Khalifa’s tweet went viral, Octagon Baseball, Contreras’ agency, issued a statement to Deadspin claiming its client’s account had been hacked.
Khalifa’s hometown Nationals and Contreras’ Cubs are set up to play each other in the NLDS, if the standings hold in the final weeks of the regular season.
