Harvey’s youngest victim to date is a 6-month-old baby — who was ripped from her mother’s arms after the family got trapped in roaring floodwaters outside Houston.
The infant girl was lost in the current Aug. 27 as her family fled their pickup truck, which had become trapped in the flood water as they tried to drive to safety toward Louisiana, the Houston Chronicle said.
Nearby firefighters heard screams and found the couple in a tree.
“The current was so fast, it ripped the baby out of their arms,” said Jimmy Williams with the New Waverly Fire Department. “So the baby was lost.’’
