Police search for gym rat responsible for YMCA robberies

Police are looking for a crafty gym rat in connection with a string of robberies at a Brooklyn YMCA.

The sticky-fingered body-builder allegedly stole from open lockers at the Bedford-Stuyvesant gym six times between June 13th and July 22nd, police said on Thursday.

In addition to stealing cash, she racked up hundreds of dollars of unauthorized credit card charges, cops allege.

On June 13th, the woman stole a Herschel wallet from a locker at the Bedford Avenue gym and later made $174.50 in charges with the 32-year-old female victim’s credit card.

Five days later, she made off with the 28-year-old victim’s ID, a Nordstrom gift card with a balance of $438, $20 cash and debit and credit cards, cops said.

After a short break, the gym rat struck again.

On July 6th, a 24-year old woman reported that her credit card had been stolen and used to rack up over $260 in unauthorized charges at stores nearby, cops said.

Later, the bandit stole a 23-year-old’s Kate Spade wallet with credit cards and an ID on July 9th. She used her credit card to make $20 in unauthorized charges.

Then, on the 15th, she stole the ID and credit cards belonging to a 42-year-old woman.

Most recently, on July 22, a 71-year-old victim discovered that her wallet and two forms of ID were taken from her unlocked locker.

Police say the woman has tattoos on her left arm from her shoulder to her elbow.
