Fraudster Mike Grimm blasts replacement, eyes new congressional run

Former Congressman — and convicted felon — Michael Grimm sounded ready to run for his old seat on Wednesday night as he blasted the Staten Island representative who replaced him.

“I don’t think he’s doing well as a Republican,” Grimm said about Rep. Dan Donovan on NY1.

“I think he’s doing a great job as a liberal Democrat.”

Grimm, who was released from a federal prison in 2016 after a stint for tax evasion, went on to explain, “Whether it’s going against the president on the health- care vote, whether it’s going against the president on the sanctuary-city vote, these are all Democratic positions . . and that’s a problem.”

Donovan, Staten Island’s former district attorney, won the special congressional election by 20 points after Grimm pleaded guilty in 2014 and had to vacate his seat.
