Weird But True

Cops tackle naked guy in Times Square

Tourists in Times Square got a lot more than a peep show Thursday when a butt-naked man went on a wild run around the Crossroads of the World.

The curly-haired streaker was first spotted at 11:30 a.m. at the red TKTS bleacher stairs on Broadway and Seventh Avenue near West 47th Street.

He headed three blocks south, where cops caught up with him, witnesses told The Post.

“At first, I was like, ‘Wait, am I seeing what I’m seeing?’ ” said Erin Jewell, 37, who was outside the “Good Morning America” studios on Broadway near West 44th Street. “And then I was like, ‘Oh, well, we are in Times Square.’ ”

Jewell, from Nashville, said the disheveled man appeared uneasy on his feet, but not dangerous.

“He was just stumbling across the street into the middle of the road,” she said. “All of a sudden, he was face down in the road. It looked like he just face-planted.”

A half-dozen cops then swarmed and tackled the man, who remained calm as he was handcuffed — and given a black garbage bag to wrap around his waist.

“He just stayed quiet as they handcuffed him. He was shifting his feet a lot,” said Jewell. “He wasn’t saying anything.”

The man was also given a white sheet before being placed in an ambulance. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, the FDNY said.

It’s hardly the first time someone has gone full frontal in Times Square.

Traffic screeched to a halt in June 2016 when buff model Krit McClean stripped nude during an hourlong manic episode.

The 21-year-old Ford model screamed nonsensically about Donald Trump and pranced around atop an overhang at the TKTS Broadway-ticket booths.

McClean broke his arm after jumping off and missing a giant air bag set up by cops.

A psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue revealed the Columbia grad suffered from bipolar disorder. Charges against him were dropped on the condition that he stay out of trouble and continue treatment.
