Chopper video shows dramatic Harvey rescues

Dramatic video shows a US Customs and Border Protection chopper crew rescuing a family from rising floodwaters.

The footage is shot from inside a UH-60 Black Hawk as members of the agency’s Air and Marine Operations unit pull the people from the roiling waters.

In another video, a Black Hawk is seen hovering over rooftops as a crew member descends on a rescue line to reach stranded residents.

“Our highest priority in an emergency is the safety of people in the impacted areas,” said Judson W. Murdock II, CBP lead field coordinator.

“To that end we’ve been asked to staff local, state and federal emergency operations center. We are coordinating with these agencies and are joining search and rescue efforts as requested,” he said.
