Pit bull ‘attack’ causes chaos at luxe Midtown high-rise

“Blood-curdling” screams broke out inside a luxury Midtown high-rise Friday morning when a tenant allegedly sicced his pit bull on a neighbor, cops and witnesses said.

Police responded around 9:30 a.m. to the attack on the ninth floor of the Biltmore on West 47th Street near Eighth Avenue.

When they arrived, they found two men fighting on the floor. Both appeared to be heavily drugged, cops said.

“I heard a blood-curdling scream … really high-pitched,” said Benjamin Stueben, 37, who lives in the building. “[The screaming] went on for maybe two minutes. I heard it [when] I was coming down the elevator.”

The victim was bitten multiple times, according to cops at the scene.

“It was chaos, so much chaos,” said Stueben.

Shawn Ulibarri watched the vicious attack unfold from his apartment peephole.

“He was saying, ‘Sic him, sic him. Get him!’” said Ulibarri, 50. “The dog attacked the guy. He was growling and shaking his head back and forth, the way dogs do. The guy getting attacked by the dog screamed, ‘Call the police, call the police!’”

Ulibarri said one of the men lived in the building, while the other was just a visitor. He said “interesting” characters come in and out of the apartment all the time.

“They were kind of belligerent because I think they were high or something. The one guy said, ‘Oh, you’re going to kill my dog,’ and then he says, ‘I’m going to sic my dog on you.’”

“There was like blood and puke all on my door,” Ulibarri added.

Cops tranquilized the dog and removed it in a large crate with a blue blanket draped over the top, police said. It’s unclear what will happen to it.

One of the bloodied men was handcuffed behind his back and wheeled out of the building. The second man was strapped to a gurney with blood smeared along his right arm.

Cops weren’t yet sure which man owned the dog. They said only one visibly suffered dog bites.

The FDNY said it received a call at 8:57 a.m. for an “injury” and transported two people with minor injuries to Bellevue Hospital.
