Vagrant charged in Walgreens bathroom sex attack

Cops on Saturday morning nabbed the fiend who allegedly tried to rape a woman in a Bronx Walgreens bathroom this week, police said.

Victor Augustus, 28, who is homeless, was charged with attempted rape, sex abuse, forcible touching, assault and harassment, cops said.

His 50-year-old victim took a break from shopping just before 4 p.m. on Thursday to use the single-occupancy unisex bathroom at the store on White Plains Road near Nereid Avenue in Wakefield, cops said.

As she exited, Augustus allegedly forced her back into the restroom. He then covered her mouth and attempted to remove her pants, cops said.

A brave store employee managed to pull Augustus away from the victim after hearing her screams and rushing over. Augustus then took off.

Cops managed to track him down around midnight Saturday during a canvass of the neighborhood, which he is known to frequent, police said.
