Mets have landed in a smaller dildo controversy

Thor’s hammer took on an entirely new meaning when the Mets released a photo of their Noah Syndergaard bobblehead, to be given out to the first 15,000 fans attending Saturday’s game.

The bobblehead, which styles Syndergaard as the Nordic god in accordance with his nickname, includes the hammer, which, um, has a bit of a design flaw. The handle looks like a dildo.

This isn’t the first incidence of phallic objects being a little too close to the Mets for comfort this season. In May, someone placed an actual (and quite large) dildo in catcher Kevin Plawecki’s locker, which went viral after the team’s Twitter account posted a picture with the sex toy in the background.

“I do have a good sense of humor, and I like to think everybody does, too. That’s all I can say about it,” Plawecki said at the time after calling the incident “awkward.”

Syndergaard is currently on the 60-day DL with a partial tear of his right lat muscle and is expected to return in mid-August.
