State legislators didn’t get the pay raise they wanted last year, but two politicians upped their income — they won the lottery!
Brooklyn state Sen. Martin Dilan revealed in his 2016 financial disclosure that he hit a jackpot.
And Queens Assemblyman Robert Miller reported winnings of at least $5,000 but under $20,000.
Dilan told The Post he won the WIN 4 for $25,000 on Feb. 20, 2016 — and used the proceeds for a down payment to buy his first home.
Dilan said he was talking about the lottery with a friend who always played WIN 4 and used his street address — 1638.
Dilan, elected in 2002 and serving his eighth term, rarely plays any lottery games. But the next day, he stopped at the local deli in Bushwick.
“I played WIN 4 . . . and picked the numbers 1638,” Dilan said. “I remembered his address, so I played it.”
Later in the afternoon, Dilan bumped into the same friend at an eatery.
The friend said he was upset that he didn’t play the WIN 4 because his address was the winning number that day.
“I took the ticket out of my left pocket and said, ‘I won!’ ” Dilan recalled.
How did Dilan repay his pal? “I bought him a beer,” he said.
A lifelong renter, Dilan said he used the $25,000 as part of a down payment to purchase his first home, in Cypress Hills.
Miller, for his part, declined to comment.
