Mayweather-McGregor circus escalates with homophobic slur

The Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor traveling circus continues to be more of a clown show.

A day after McGregor made his comments on race worse at Barclays Center, it was Mayweather’s anti-gay slur that provided the negative sound bite from the tour’s fourth and final stop Friday in London.

“You punk, you f—-t, you ho,” Mayweather yelled at McGregor, who answered with two middle fingers, as the two shared a boxing ring for the first time.

Race has been front and center throughout the two fighters promoting their Aug. 26 boxing match in Las Vegas. In Los Angeles on Tuesday, McGregor told Mayweather to “dance for me boy.” Then on Thursday in Brooklyn, McGregor dug the hole deeper while trying to respond to the criticism he has taken over his comments.

“[The media] seem to be saying I’m against black people,” the UFC lightweight champion said. “Do they not know I’m half black? I’m half black from the belly button down.”

Mayweather, who took McGregor to task over his comments, continued to lower the bar on the event’s trash talking in front of a raucous crowd that was chanting for him to sit down and shut up.

It is advice he may regret not taking.
