Two women charged for being in the car that hit, dragged NYPD officer

Two women who were in the stolen car that dragged an NYPD officer in Brooklyn — leaving him fighting for his life — have been charged with hindering prosecution, cops said.

Eboni Clinton, 19, and Jeronda Oliver, 18, both of Brooklyn, were passengers in the car that dragged officer Dalsh Veve, 35, for over two city blocks just before midnight Saturday, officials say.

Veve was responding to a report of shots fired on Tilden Avenue and East 53rd Street in East Flatbush with five other plainclothes cops. He was questioning the occupants of a Honda Civic that was parked by a fire hydrant, while standing by the driver’s side when the vehicle sped off, dragging Veve with it.

The officer was able to fire two shots into the car, striking the 15-year-old driver, before he fell free as the car turned on East 53rd Street, police said.

The driver, who fled from the scene, walked into Brookdale Hospital with a gunshot to the face. He is in serious but stable condition and is expected to be charged at the 67th Precinct on Monday.

The car was found abandoned on 53rd Street between Snyder and Church avenues. It had been reported stolen May 16 from a pizza delivery person in Valley Stream, Long Island, authorities said.

It was quickly determined the reported gunshots were actually fireworks, according to police.

An 18-year-old man who was believed to be the fourth person in the car was questioned and released, cops said.

Veve, a nine-year veteran and native of Haiti, is married with a 2-year-old daughter. He remains in critical condition at Kings County Hospital.
