Doped-up driver strikes and kills man crossing the street: cops

A Queens man was struck and killed by a doped-up driver on Monday night, cops said.

Jinhe Niu, 67 of Flushing was hit by a silver Ford Explorer as he crossed the street on 46th Avenue near 149th Street around 8:30 p.m., authorities said. Niu was taken to Flushing Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, 46-year-old Wesley Leung, also of Flushing, remained at the scene and was determined to be under the influence of marijuana, police said.

Leung has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.
