Cops suspended after suspect escapes custody

Two Brooklyn cops who were supposed to be watching a suspect when he temporarily escaped from custody Sunday morning have been suspended, officials said Monday.

The two officers from the 67th Precinct each received two weeks’ suspension for allowing the suspect’s brief flight.

The suspect, Tymeer Brown, 18, had been arrested for a possible gang assault Saturday night. He was being moved to Brooklyn Criminal Court around 4:30 a.m. when he slipped out of the police transport vehicle and ran off. He was re-captured about two hours later nearby.
