Harry Houdini used to chill at this fabulous Georgian estate in Ridgefield, Conn., nearly 100 years ago, when it was owned by his brother, Dr. Leopold Weiss.

(Houdini’s real name was the less magical-sounding Ehrich Weiss.)

Now the sprawling property, known as Sunset Hall, at 162 Old West Mountain Road — which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places — will go up for auction with Platinum Luxury Auctions on May 19 with no minimum reserve bid.

(It was recently on the market, asking $4.75 million.)

The 10-bedroom home is nearly 12,000 square feet and sits on 6.99 acres. The property also includes a 1,500-square-foot guest house. The seller, Jennifer Nobandegani, has owned the estate since 2008. Nobandegani, who lives in New York City with her children, bought the home as a weekend getaway for her family.

(Her husband, a surgeon, passed away in 2013.)

The original owner was James Stokes, former US ambassador to Great Britain.

Other past owners include Brooklyn beer baron Samuel Rubel and actor Robert Vaughn. After World War II, the estate was even considered for the permanent home of the United Nations.

The property includes a tennis court, a 65-foot heated pool and a 4,000-square-foot limestone pool terrace. Inside, the main house features nine fireplaces, a marble-floored ballroom, a chef’s kitchen and a sun room.
