President Trump’s tax plan would wallop New Yorkers and the middle class while benefiting the wealthiest, Sen. Charles Schumer said on Sunday.
“The reviews are in, from economists to experts . . . and what they’re saying is, this plan is not good for New York, Long Island, or middle-class people in the rest of America,” the Senate Democratic leader said.
“I believe that we should aim the tax cuts at the middle class. At the people who are struggling. God bless wealthy people, they’re doing better than ever . . . they don’t need the tax breaks the way middle-class people and people trying to get to the middle class need,” he said.
