Man critically injured after being struck in face by subway

A man was seriously injured when a train struck his face as he was standing near the edge of the platform at a Manhattan subway station, officials said.

The man was at the 96th St. station near Broadway when he was struck as an oncoming 1 train was pulling into the station around 1:50 p.m.
