Cops search for suspects in violent home invasion

Police are looking for four men who burst into a 47-year-old man’s Lower East Side apartment and robbed him at gunpoint, police said.

The victim was inside his apartment on South St. at the Gov. Alfred E. Smith houses when he heard a knock on his door around 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

When he opened the door, he was met by four masked men, at least one of whom was armed, who pushed their way inside and began beating him, police said.

The man was pistol whipped as the men ransacked his apartment, stealing electronics and other items before running out.

The man was not seriously hurt and refused medical attention, police said.
