Man jumps out window to get away from cops

A 23-year-old man is in critical condition after he jumped out a fourth-floor window at a Bronx apartment building to avoid being arrested Monday morning, police sources said.

Members of the NYPD’s warrant squad showed up to arrest the man at his family’s apartment at a building on East 184th Street near Creston Avenue in Fordham Heights around 7:45 a.m.

When the man realized cops were at his door, he announced to his family that he was not going back to jail and hurled himself out a fourth-floor window, police sources said.

He suffered severe body trauma when he landed on the pavement below and was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.

It was not not clear why police wanted to arrest him.

The incident is still under investigation.
