Teacher, missing student were spotted soon after vanishing

A Tennessee teacher who allegedly abducted his teenage student after they were caught kissing was spotted with her at a Walmart in Oklahoma for the first time since the manhunt began, according to a report Friday.

Tad Cummins, 50, and Elizabeth Thomas, 15, were captured on camera buying food at the store in Oklahoma City on the afternoon of March 15, CNN reported.

The pair have been missing since March 13, several weeks after a student reported she saw him kiss her in his classroom at Culleoka Unit School in Maury County, police said.

In the Walmart footage, Cummins had changed his appearance by darkening his hair. Thomas may have also changed her looks by dyeing her hair red, CNN reported.

Cummins is driving a silver Nissan Rogue with Tennessee plates and may be armed with two handguns, law enforcement said.

He was added to Tennessee’s “Top 10 Most Wanted” list Friday, authorities said.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has received more than 350 tips but no solid leads on tracking down the pair, officials said.
