Police are looking for a man who jumped into the Bronx River in an apparent suicide attempt, authorities said.
The man placed a suicide note in a bottle and left it on the bank of the river near Westchester and Bronx River avenues before jumping into the water around 11:50 p.m. Sunday.
A bystander witnessed the man jump over a wall and into the river before running to a nearby gas station and telling employees to call 911.
Police found the note but the man’s body was not found. An aviation team even took to the skies with a search light to look for the man with no results.
The witness did not stick around to talk to the cops and is still being sought for questioning.
