NFL suspends another Jet after DUI arrest

Another week and another suspension for a Jets player.

The NFL suspended tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins on Wednesday for the first two games of the 2017 season for violating the league’s policy for substances of abuse. This comes one week after wide receiver Jalin Marshall was suspended four games for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy.

The suspension is the result of a misdemeanor DUI last September, when Seferian-Jenkins was still with the Buccaneers. He pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of reckless driving in February. Tampa Bay cut him after the incident in September and the Jets claimed him off waivers immediately. He wound up catching 10 passes for 110 yards last year.

Seferian-Jenkins can participate in the offseason program and training camp.
