Patriots’ Martellus Bennett insists he’ll boycott Trump White House

Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett said this week he would not go to the White House if the Patriots won the Super Bowl. He reiterated that stance after the Patriots stunningly prevailed, 34-28, in overtime.

“I’m not going to go,” Bennett said.

The Patriots will be the first major sports champion since Donald Trump took office, so it will be interesting to see what happens when they make a trip to Washington.

The outspoken Bennett was upstaged during his post-game press conference by his daughter Jett, who sat down at the microphone in her father’s lap, reminiscent of Steph Curry’s daughter Riley. The almost-3-year-old told the charmed assembled media how her dog peed on the rug and discussed “Monsters, Inc.” characters with Bennett.

“The Super Bowl is cool and all, but this is my best trophy ever,” Bennett said of his precocious daughter.
