A Spanish-speaking NYPD cop who police sources said helped with the investigation of Mexican druglord El Chapo was promoted on Friday, officials said.

Detective Diana Spangenberg, 39 — a 15-year-veteran of the NYPD — was promoted from second grade to first-grade detective during a ceremony at 1 Police Plaza.

Cops say she was part of a multi-jurisdictional team that handled El Chapo’s case, but was unable to provide specific details on her role.

Police sources said that Spangenberg speaks Spanish and was able to communicate with El Chapo.

The notorious drug lord was extradited by Mexico’s government and flown to New York last week.
