Brother accused of literally stabbing sister in the back

A teenage boy stabbed his sister in the back and then turned the knife on his mother, who was trying to break up the violent squabble in their East Village apartment early Saturday, cops said.

Justin Rivera, 16, was arguing with his 22-year-old sister in their apartment on East 10th Street near Avenue D in the Riis Houses around 1:30 a.m. when he thrust a knife into her back, according to police.

When Rivera’s 47-year-old mother tried to intervene, he stabbed her in the head, and slashed her forearm and fingers.

The sister was taken to Bellevue Hospital, and the mother to Beth Israel. Both are in stable condition.

Rivera was arrested on scene and charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
