Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave has debuted a new music video — featuring actual footage from a sex tape he made last year — just days after being shot in the head.
The 31-year-old posted a preview to Instagram this week before later sharing it in its entirety.
“If Life gives u lemons make lemonade w/ patrõn,” Ave wrote in the caption of the Instagram clip.
The music video is for the rapper’s new song — fittingly called “Sex Tape” — and features portions of an explicit home movie he made with lady friend, whose face is blurred out.
The pair is spotted doing the deed in several different positions, all while Ave raps along in a striped “Peanuts” sweater featuring the character Woodstock.
The local hip hop star — real name Roland Collins — was hit with attempted murder and weapons possession charges last year after he was infamously caught on tape blasting gunshots into a crowd during a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza.
On Christmas day, Ave was shot in the head and arm while sitting in his red Maserati in Brooklyn.
He was later seen in an Instagram photo alongside friend and fellow rapper 50 cent as he recuperated in the hospital.
“Dope boy Troy all good,” the caption read. “Merry Christmas.”
The sex tape that Ave got the footage from was allegedly swiped, along with his laptop, last month. The rapper later took to social media to call out the thief and let him know he wouldn’t be extorted.
“Devil always tryna tear a real one down!” Ave wrote in the caption of a Dec. 20 Instagram photo, which showed a screenshot of a conversation he was having with the person he claimed was responsible.
“Some low ass home alone Christmas thief stole a laptop that had footage of me and a chick, I was gon use all the parts that wasn’t that X rated 4 a music video,” he said. “But now they got all unedited parts And now I’m pose to be gettin finessed out my racks…I will Not be extorted. It Ain’t like I’m doing some freaky R Kelly $–t all me and my fans care about us my freedom, this dope music I’m puttin out…And Ima still put the other video out d–k head.”
