J.J. Watt accidentally outs relationship in Christmas photo

A picture is worth a thousand words, or in J.J. Watt’s case, a stocking.

After putting the finishing touches on his holiday decor Thursday, the NFL star gave fans a glimpse of his Christmas cheer via Snapchat. But Watt may have slipped up by displaying — tucked away in the background, as Terez Owens was first to point out — a second stocking marked with a “K” for stunning soccer-playing girlfriend Kealia Ohai.

Watt has yet to address the relationship publicly, though Ohai — the sister-in-law of Texans teammate Brian Cushing — talked about the pair in October.

“The rumors are true. We are dating,” Ohai confirmed on the 2 Up Front podcast. “I’ve known J.J. for a really long time, and we’ve always been really great friends, and yeah, I’m really proud of him for everything he’s been going through, but it’s been pretty crazy with all the rumors.”

While both athletes are focused on their careers — Ohai, 24, recently was named to the US Women’s National Team roster — it seems Watt, 27, has found a way to fit romance into his hectic schedule. Perhaps it’s the lone advantage of the Houston Texans defensive end missing the season following back surgery.

“People [I know] think that I’ve never dated before or whatever,” Watt once explained to NFL.com. “But I’m trying. I’m trying. I’m just unsuccessful. My schedule’s so crazy and life’s busy. It just hasn’t worked.”

Previously linked to tennis standout Caroline Wozniacki and actress Kate Hudson, Watt understands his romantic entanglements will always be under a microscope.

“Bringing a girl into this life and the scrutiny and the criticism that comes with it — no matter how perfect the girl is — people are gonna rip her to shreds because that’s the social media world we live in today,” Watt shared on “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” in September.

Should Watt decide to post a selfie with Ohai on social media, it would be something of a Christmas miracle.
