During Monday night’s game between the Grizzlies and Hornets in Memphis, the home team hosted a unique fan — a young woman who traveled all the way from China to see her favorite player, Vince Carter, play in person.
According to the signs she brought to the arena, it was her “dream” to meet Vince — she said she has loved him for 16 years, and would be the happiest person in the world if she were able to get a photo with the Grizzlies’ veteran forward.
She had attempted to meet Carter during a Nov. 18 Grizzlies game in Dallas, but was only able to secure the 39-year-old’s headband. She remained undeterred and this time, it finally happened!
Someone brought the fan to Carter’s attention, and he asked security for her to be permitted through to the court so the two could take a picture and converse.
A simply awesome moment that she will likely never forget.
