This guy was slinging more than pizzas.
Roberta’s co-founder Chris Parachini behaved more like the famed Brooklyn pizzeria’s signature pie “The Beastmaster” than a boss — pounding his fists on the countertops, demanding assistants sign him up for gym memberships and fishing licenses, and regularly yelling out such colorful language as “homo” and “f—-t,” his business partner testified.
“People walked on eggshells,” the partner, Brandon Hoy said in Manhattan Supreme Court Wednesday.
Hoy, Parachini and a third partner, Carlo Mirarchi, are in the midst of an ugly business divorce, with Hoy and Mirarchi asking a judge to bar Parachini from the day-to-day operations of the Michelin-starred eatery.
Hoy also testified that Parachini forced a mistress onto the payroll.
“If we didn’t fall in line, there’d be hell to pay,” Hoy testified about his hot-tempered co-founder.
Parachini’s attorney, Derek Wolman, called the testimony a “gross mischaracterization” of his client.
The Beastmaster pizza includes tomato, mozzarella, gorgonzola, pork sausage, onion, capers and jalapenos.
The hearing continues Friday.
