Cops nab teens suspected of mugging nanny in Central Park

Cops nabbed the three teens who shoved a nanny to the ground and robbed her in broad daylight on Wednesday as she pushed a toddler in a stroller in Central Park.

The woman was walking near the 86th Street Transverse when she was targeted by three teens at about 12:30 p.m., according to police.

The callous crooks — described as two 19-year-old boys and a 14-year-old girl — pushed the nanny from behind, grabbed her bag and fled, authorities said.

Cops eventually tracked down the suspects and arrested them nearby.

John Torres, 19, was charged with robbery in the second degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree and resisting arrest. Pedro Castillo, also 19, and the 14-year-old girl, whose name was not released because she is a minor, were also charged with second-degree robbery.

Neither the woman nor child was injured.

Central Park has been a haven for delinquents and thieves lately — with a slew of muggings taking place over the past few months, including one incident in which an 86-year-old man was pushed and robbed after he refused to give his attackers a dollar.

In October, a 27-year-old woman on a nighttime jog was beaten, mugged and nearly raped by a man who grabbed her from behind and dragged her into bushes near East Drive and East 107th Street.

At least five robberies were reported in the park between September and October — up from just one during the same period in 2015.
